Small motorcycles, scooters, and city bicycles as they are actually parked, from a Tokyo alley to a Taipei scooter lot under the expressway. A street series from autumn 2018.
A walking series about how two cities park. Tokyo first, where single machines sit in alleys and against doorways; then Taipei, where scooters gather by the hundred under the expressway and in ranks outside every shopfront. Nothing was staged: each machine was shot where its owner left it, in the light that was there. The interest is in the details that accumulate around a working vehicle, from a helmet left on the rack to a pink delivery box bolted to a red KYMCO.
